Portable X-Chat Aqua Editor's Review

Portable X-Chat Aqua is the is the portable version of the IRC client for Mac OS X, X-Chat Aqua.

This client is developed for mobile users who would like to use their own client with their own settings on multiple machines by carrying it on a mobile storage data device such as flash drive or your eye-candy iPod.

The application prompts you at the first usage if it founds an existing X-Chat profile on your computer. It can copy that profile and use it in a mobile way.

X-Chat is well known in the Linux world because this is a Open Source client. It is an advanced client and it features a lot of options. The only thing that I miss in X-Chat Aqua is the support for tab auto-completion which can be useful especially for channel operators.

Pluses: it gives you mobility, it can copy the profile from your installed X-Chat.

Drawbacks / flaws: so far, I could find just an issue about X-Chat: the lack of support for tab auto-completion.

In conclusion: if you are a X-Chat Aqua fan, and a portability fan at the same time, then this application is developed for your needs.
